i lve this song. i bought the album and it is good, though "oh mandy" is by far the best track. the other stuff is really enjoyable, though pretty mediocre and run of the mill indie rock. regardless, nice to listen to and i don't need a constant re-invention of the wheel.

i disagree. its a pretty solid debut for a bunch of kids who were barely 21 when they released it. i predict the next record will be mindblowing.

Agreed. I haven't been able to get tired of the song for about six months. And from Delaware!...

i heard this in session on XFM while i was driving home from work 20 minutes ago. it's so good i've just bought it off iTunes. it absolutely fucking kicks ass. wonderful, wonderful stuff.

which is the *second*-best song on the album? i'll download that, then decide whether to buy the whole thing ;)

mrs fiendish: "it's very arcade fire, isn't it?"

she's not wrong. somehow i hadn't twigged.

"Mandy" is by FAR the best thing on the album, but it's still pretty good. Maybe try the second (i think?) single ("Direct to Helmet")?

Also very Arcade Fire and exceedingly awesome is the new Bishop Allen song, "Flight 180".

"Trust Vs. Mistrust" is my other favorite. More on the Pavement-y side of things. "Oh Mandy" is pretty tough to top.

I was talking about Oh Mandy with a friend of mine who books them a lot in State College - love the theremin opening the song. I would check out "Late" or "Spy v. Spy" too.

'Brown Boxes' is definitely my favourite, though 'Mandy' comes real close.
