no i dont, but i'm just looking at his list now.

hmm, he has a different renegade legion 12" to me, i dont have that one. however i'm not sure he'd be into the other one, its less gloomcore and more cold eyed trance

i never liked that scientist record at #73. i hated the scientist records actually, though i didnt know they were dj hype, until now. im not sure i'd say they transcended hardcores cliches, as i dont really think those were in place yet, at the time of this

but, things improve with #72, Music for Mallet Instruments, Voice and Organ! this is my favourite steve reich also

i have an mp3 of the version on the soul food soundtrack, though i can't imagine that that's "practically impossible to find version" that woebot's talking about. though i don't see any evidence of it being a puffy remix either.

the version on the soul food soundtrack is the one

i imagine its only impossible to find on vinyl

because its easy to find on soulseek

and it is a great track

I think Woebot's collector tendencies exclude having something on a soundtrack cd as actually "having".

i think his prince and mbv choices are spot on.

Surely "You Made Me Realise" and Dirty Mind are pretty canonical these days? My sister got me a "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" book for Christmas and from memory the three Prince albums chosen are Dirty Mind, Purple Rain and Sign O' the Times.

i would say that all of prince's output from the 80s is pretty canonical and u+k, but picking DM over SOTT seems controversial because SOTT is widely considered the masterpiece. DM sits cohesively in his list though and i personally would pick it over SOTT any day.

if "you made me realise" isn't canonical, it certainly should be!
