South & opening acts last night

Here's a two parter: I'm currently in London for a business trip and saw South were playing last night at in Islington. They were playing material from their new album and it sounded like a pretty solid return to form. Does it have a US release date yet?

They also had this guy doing a solo set called Freddy Stevenson who had some totally amazing songs. Kind of Tom Waits sung by Paul Simon sound. He said that his album was coming out some time in the spring. Has anyone heard any more from this guy?

Thanks for your help. RR

What do you want me to do man, scan my ticket?

Just because I don't post on here permanently arguing over tiny home town gigs or who has the greatest guitar solo ever on another terrible rock record doesn't mean anything. I enjoy reading the site. I'm stuck in a freaking hotel, twiddling my thumbs waiting for meetings. God forbid actually wanting to contribute.

Learn how to type...or spell.

Rape this.

I don't care about your 'question' at all but "rape this" is a spectacular signoff, good work

Thanks man.

As I was calming myself after posting, with a hot tasty beverage, I realised suggesting to my friend above about that the whole source of my 'question' was because nothing was coming up on Google or Amazon about either of those acts.

Who needs conversation...when creating virtual personas of who I would rather be on Second Life seems so much more appealing.

Oh wait...

Didn't know they had a new album out - Whats it called?

From here on in is ace, With The Tides was good but not great

Saw them live a couple of years ago and they were so awful we walked out (to be fair it was mainly down to very bad sound)

A quick look at their website reveals its due out in April over here and its called 'Adventures In The Underground Journey To The Stars'.

Shit title mind

What is their website? I can't find it.

Timeout gave them a pretty shoddy review on their single...calling it very 'MOR'...or something like that. People seemed to enjoy it last night though.

should be south.uk.net
also look out for the US only EP called Speed Up Slow Down that came out in October. the lead track A Place in Displacement sounds just like New Order.
