I listened to OV this week for the first time and I really liked it. I've been going back to it for a few days now and I'm really glad I managed to get my hands on it before basically forgetting about it. It's also been the cause of bitter debates between a mate of mine (who despises it) and me. Oh well. What did you guys think of OV?

it was discussed here somewhat.

I haven't heard it, but I do own their earlier CD with a picture of an owl-man on the cover. I can't figure out exactly what the title is.

It's definitely disappointing. It is worth the 3 bucks I spent on it though.

their new split EP (single, really) with Behold...the Arctopus (on Crucial Blast) is pretty good. Short form, five minute tracks.

I think OV is the best thing they've done. But go see 'em live though if you can! They're great!!

OV is cool.

Anyone dig Cromtech?

bobby.lasers (bobby.lasers), Sunday, 22 January 2006 16:52 (twenty years ago)

saw Chromtech open up for Unwound, a while back. It was sorta proto-Hella, but less melodic, more metallic. Very detailed stuff, but not much textural variation, and kinda over-stuffed. Like, how many guitar lines can you fit inside a single minute. The drummer worked very hard.

I've been waiting for a copy of the new split to show up in my mailbox. It hasn't yet, but I was told it's on the way.

i have that crom tech cd that was on gravity. pretty fly stuff, imo. definitely a more rough-hewn and spastic version of orthrelm.
