I can only afford one of these albums.

Ark - the newish one on Perlon
Ark - the one with the Isolee remix from 2003?
Dandy Jack - the newish one on Perlon

i have tracks by both Ark and Dandy Jack and i like them equally. Which album is the best?

Go with the Dandy Jack, the Ark was lost on me way before the middle point. Dandy Jack's record kept my attention all the way through, and it as a wonderful ride.

Yeah, Ark 'Caliente" has high points but as a full-length it's a real chore.

thanks for the recommendation. i'll pick it up tomorrow. i couldn't decide today so i thought i'd ask.

still curious about the other Ark album. it's got several remixes tacked on the end and is Arkelujah or something like that. Looks interesting but could be dated by now since it's from 2003. anyone have that disc that can comment on it's goodness.

also, what about the new Thomas Brinkmann? I heard it was good but who's got first hand knowledge? is it more of an ambient, listening disc or could i use the tracks for mixing?

forget what I said about the Ark album. Been listening today. This one definitely works better when you're doing something else than focused listening, like dancing... or shopping! I think it must be a bit ahead of me really considering how much I've gone back & forth over it.

I didn't like the Ark record.

Haven't heard the Dandy Jack - what is the title of the record?

if you are a dj i would buy ark's album, if only for 'preacher'... it's a fun song to play. also, 'r2d2' features jamie lidell on vocals in some kind of office supply tech house sci fi mystery. very fun.

three months pass...
gave this (caliente) another listen today - sucubz is awesome. a whole album of such fast editing still grates, though.
