Obvious double a-sides where both sides were equally popular don't count. Tracks from recent CD Singles/EPs do though:

1. Depeche Mode: Fools
2. The Beatles: Rain
3. The Beatles: I Am The Walrus
4. Depeche Mode: Dangerous
5. Pet Shop Boys: Miserablism
6. Erasure: When I Needed You
7. Depeche Mode: But Not Tonight
8. Oasis: The Masterplan
9. The Beatles: Thank You Girl
10.Rolling Stones: Child Of The Moon

I am sure there are lots of great tracks I have forgotten, so it may be interesting to see other people's lists. These are all great though. :)

Marigold is a pretty cool Nirvana song. I believe it was a b-side to Heart Shaped Box.

Ooh, "Child of the Moon" rules. Also: "Who's Driving Your Plane." "Voice of Harold" is awesome. Those Beatles cuts are some of their very best things. And:

"Dogs Part Two," The Who
"Irresistible Bitch," Prince
"Camera," Pavement
"My Song," Aretha Franklin
"My Generation," Patti Smith Group
"Endless Sleep," Nick Lowe (on an EP in England, but a 45 B-side in the States)
"Big Tears," Elvis Costello and the Attractions
"Raw Ramp," T. Rex
"You're My Favorite Waste of Time" and "Somebody Like You," Marshall Crenshaw
"Crystal Japan" and that 1979 version of "Space Oddity," David Bowie
"Let It Bleed," Caetano Veloso

Obvious double a-sides where both sides were equally popular don't count.

I dunno. Certain bands did equally consistent B-sides where they became popular only semi-inadvertently - unlike those "double A-side" reissue 45s.

I think of "Dear God" / "Grass" by XTC.
Virtually every Smiths single known to man.
Elvis Costello had a long streak of fantastic flips (including "Peace Love and Understanding" being the B-side of Nick Lowe's "American Squirm," if memory serves)

Placebo and Siouxsie both have marvellously experimental B-sides that, in some cases, outstrip their A-side equivalents for sheer interesting/expansive listening, if not necessarily top-shelf longevity. People say the same of Blur, but I was never a big fan, so...

Ride: Grasshopper
Oasis: Acquiesce
Belle and Sebastian: Slow Graffiti
Beatles: I Am the Walrus
Buzzcocks: Why Can't I Touch It?

Other five later I guess.

Adorable: "A to Fade In". Best thing they ever did. I dont think I can even remember what the A side was!

1989 was such a good year for the (stone) roses. brilliant b-sides included Mersey Paradise, Standing Here, Where Angels Play and What the World is Waiting For.

I think of "Dear God" / "Grass" by XTC.

However, "Dear God" did eventually become an a-side anyway, and thus is not valid in this thread.
