I woke up in the middle of the night with these people chanting "No justice, no truth" in my head. I think sampled from the post Rodney King riots in LA? So agit-hip hop thing or something? From a while back...

I thought it went: "No justice, no peace! Don't trust the police!", though maybe the chant was a bit different during the L.A. riots. Anyway, this version is used in many rap songs, the first to spring to mind are "Pork And Beef" by The Coup and "TH9" by Asian Dub Foundation. Neither one of them has any samples of crowds though.

Yeah, I looked it up on Google and got all kind sof things but none of them were it. It was definitely the crowd (maybe outside the courtrooms during the Rodney King trials?).

I'm thinking it was hip hop or rap now...I think it was a remix of something that by someone really mainstream...a rocker...damn it - it's on the tip of my tongue...arrrgghh...

Ok, that should be "I'm thinking it WASN'T..." obviously.

Blimey I'm having a bad day - first I fckd the title of this and then I started another thread that had already been started...sigh...

Anyway - I know now what this is - it's Bruce Springsteen (oh yes) and 57 Channels (There's a Riot Goin' On mix) - I'll put it on the 8thYSI thread if anyone's interested in hearing it. It's quite good in a kind of Steinski-lite kinda way.

Yeah, I'd like to hear it.

It's up there now...get it while it's...er...hot.
