are you inclined to celebrate pop records with broken beats?

maybe against my better judgment they tend to signify "cutting edge" to me, at least in a pop context (that is, pop defined narrowly in terms of song form and genres associated w/commercial radio play)

and so i often get a bit excited when i hear them in a pop record.

maybe this is passé?

if other ilmors share this inclination it would help to explain a good deal of the excitement here over certain records of recent years.

on the other hand maybe i just like complex digital high-hat patterns.

maybe you could give an example or explain what you mean by broken beats. broken beat to me is new sector movements, people recs, west london nu jazz et al. dont remember that bothering the charts, so im confused
