Is it ok for Kraftwerk to be fleeced by Coldplay?

Are they being fleeced? OK, they're both on EMI, but I don't think that automatically means no licensing deal was made.

True, but this is not sampling, this is basing your main album track and new single around an already known and well-loved riff and then warbling nonsense over the top while sitting back and laughing at how gullible your fans are. Isn't it?

Yeah, the song is Computer Love from Computerworld.

I don't overly care, and maybe Coldplay are doing them a favour - they've just made one new fan anyway - It just seems a bit lazy to me - they are a capable, if dull pop band and Kraftwerks music, in my opinion, deserves better, if only out of professional courtesy.
