eg - are there tracks i can listen to that the head got their ideas from for tracks like those mentioned above?
or if not tracks they got their ideas from, are there just other records that are in some way similar or related?
suggestions much appreciated.
thanks.

Never mind all that, you are a radiohead novice that likes those tracks over and above 'OK Computer' and all the rest? You are my friend.

[insert random, sarcastic quotes by rh hataz]

now..

firstly
Hood - Cold House

then you can take a dive in the pool of influences radiohead themselves floated in while making Kid A:

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Scott Walker - Tilt
Olivier Messiaen
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James
Can - Tago Mago
Autechre - Confield
Autechre - Tri Repetae ++

but stiil, these sound rather different than the radiohead stuff, they made it their own unique mishmash kind of thing. which is cool

i prefer kid a/amnesiac style radiohead although i like the bends and parts of ok computer a lot too. i wish they went all out though with their new makeover rather than retreating into it with hail to the thief. that was lame.

Try "In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country" by Boards of Canada. It's a four track EP.
