Released on Friday just. Anyone got this? It's not your usual soulwax all-over-the-eras /many-genre'd mash-up caper. perhaps because of licensing issues. it reminds me (from the look of the tracklist) of felix da housecat's cd from last year.

who's heard it?

also mixmag is under new management - no longer emap they are now owned by development hell [same as Word] i.e Dave Hepworth / Mark Ellen

is this different from this? And what is the deal with < that?

tis deffo the second one - checked the tracklisting today and may indeed pick it up tomorrow as that line up will eat away at my curiosity .. just a shame the LCD/Jackson tracks aint anything special, both are from the albums ..

The 50,000 Soulwax Fans release is probably a bootleg of one of their radio mixes, same as the Hang All DJ's releases and all of the As Heard on Radio Soulwaxes except volume 2 on PIAS. Not worth paying for as the packaging is kind of shoddy and the Dewaeles won't see a cent of it.

yes it is, it's from radio 1. has tong jingles on it too!

all over slsk, and has an aces version of REBEL REBEL on.

piscesboy, Monday, 23 January 2006 16:13 (twenty years ago)

that was the essential mix wasnt it?? ( the 5000 fans one)

theres quite alot of essential mixes gettting non uk releases/ the killer Rapture One got released about a year ago.

dont know whether its legal or not. Radio one owns the broadcasting writes but label owns the overseas writes?

yeah its weird. weirder still is the price. like, £25 in hmv. yer'd have to be mad.

So who's on the cover of this issue? I went down to the local bookstore today to see if they had this, but it was Hallwell somebody or other. Does it come out a month earlier in Europe than in the US?

cover has a bloke with a horse's head on. and something about ketamine. it also has a big 'Soulwax CD' stuck to the front 8)

koogs (koogs), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 13:22 (twenty years ago)

its not here in belgium neither, checked three diff libraries, :(

if someone can YSI this, I'll eat my hat....

Real nice CD, apart from a truly awful rap about 70% through the session. Really, I hate that track and I wanna skip over it each time

Also mixmag split the session up into many tracks on the CD. This is a shame because theres a big gap between each track. I had to use loads of diff software to join it back into one seamless mp3 again :*(

Paul Chapman, Thursday, 26 January 2006 16:00 (twenty years ago)

so, it's not a mix, but a compilation ?
