Can anybody recommend me anything by this band or give me any info. I seem to remember hearing a track on Peel a while back that went 'I want a cookie, I want sex' that was hilarious. Did they do something with Herb Alpert and Public Enemy?

the mixed herb alpert and public enemy way before the bootlegging fashion, on a superb 7" on pickled egg records

Yeah, the Whipped Cream mixes thing is awesome, way better than most of the bootleg stuff that followed. The rest of the things I've heard are also great, strike me as very Negativland influenced (which I didn't notice so much on the Pickled Egg 7"). If you get a chance, check them out live to see the wonders of the Thimbletron (okay, I haven't followed that link so probably it's called something else, but that's what I remember it as).

They did a great single matching soundbites from Dan Rather (negative words and phrases like "murder" and "death" -- that sort of thing) with the opening guitar riff from AC/DC's "Back in Black." It's a brilliant work that brings the TV news media's emphasis on sensationalism to an absurist endpoint.

It's ALL on the one album they did for Seeland.

I saw dude at CMJ, and he had all these cool interactive plunderphonic things on his laptop... which didn't work. The fact that he could could control samples through his powerglove or whatever was impressive... but what i remember most was him yelling at his failing laptop, "C'mon, Lappy!"
