Creating mp3s from EAC...a little help needed, please

I've been trying to figure out how to create mp3s through exact audio. I have the Lame plugin, but when I ripped my songs from the cd, it only came up in WAV format. What did I do wrong here? Any help would be appreciated.

you prolly pressed the wrong button on the left
there're "compress to wav" and "compress to mp3" buttons

OR

you might have forgotten to select lame as your default mp3 compressor.

Have you installed anything recently that might have changed it?

The exact same thing happened to me today for the first time trying to rip a CD for the first time in a month or so.

(it probably will be the second thing. Go EAC > Compression Options > External Compression "Program, including path, used for compression" and click on Browse to re-find your lame.exe)

There was some new "MPEGEncoder.exe" program sitting where lame.exe should be in the settings :/ I suspect either iTunes or ml_iPod has ended up fiddling some system wide preference.... grrr.

That was odd. For some reason EAC wasn't using Lame at all. I just went through the "Configuration Wizard" and then tried ripping the cd again. It worked.

Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate the effort
