Hey, I need some help! I'm tring to find the title of a song/ group name from some band from ~1980.
A friend of mine had moved up from LA to N. California I think it was 1980. He brought with him some cassette tape that he recorded off the radio from some local S. Calif. station. I distinctly remember one song that was on that tape. Over the years I have tried to find it... but never had any success.
Here's all I have to go on:
Lyrics I remember: "so give them crutches and call them cripples, after all they are only people...Let there be Valium, Let there be Valium" I thought the 'Let there be valium' refrain might have been the title of the track... but that led no where.
Style: Euro-post punky, not too gloomy though. Male vocals, deep voice, some times shouted. (maybe sort of Stranglersesque in feel)
Instrumentation: Guitars with, organ, keyboards or synth.
This has bugged me for 20+ years...so any help anyone may have would be appreciated. Maybe even how to go about searching for this... as googling 'Let there be Valium' has not been fruitful!
Cheers,
Wick1000

A british band called The Need released a 1980 single called "Let Them Eat Valium". Never heard it but that's probably the one, huh?
