Hearing rumblings but nothing concrete? Anybody got 'nfo?

I think I started this rumour at last year's ATP (after David Yow performed with The Melvins).

From an interview with Ray Washam here:

Q: Do you keep up with people from Scratch Acid, Ministry, Didjits, just all those different bands that you played with? Do you still talk to some of those people, or is it all just a job to a job to a job?

A: I try to. Some of the situations that I was in ended better than others. Me and David Yow just went to go and see Mike Watt play. I just live right around the corner from David.

Q: Oh, I didn't even know he lived in L.A.

A: Yeah. We hadn't seen each other really in the past - God, I probably saw him about three or four times in the past 15 years. And we get to go out and get chili dogs and stuff together since I've been here, and we've just been catching up. I love that guy, always have loved him, and it's really good to be able to hang out and visit with him again.

Q: Why don't you form another band with him?

A: I think Dave's finished with music. He's got a really good job and does this incredible artwork for advertising companies.

Q: Oh! Oh, that's pretty cool.

A: Yeah, it's really good for him and I'm happy for him and he seems to be happy with it. I think he's kind of done with the music thing. But Scratch Acid is going to do a reunion show.

Q: Oh, cool!

A: That whole reunion thing is kind of gross to me, but it's a special cause.

Q: What is it? What cause?

A: Touch and Go is having their 25th anniversary, and Corey asked us if we would play for that. And I would do anything for Corey, so we all talked about it and decided yes, we would try to do that for him. We'll probably just do one or two shows.

"Mary's Got a Little Drug Problem" seems rather a long time ago...

Also, from a thread on the Electrical boards after rumors of a Jesus Lizard reunion got people all lathered up:

Hi.
My name is David Lambeth Yow.
Perhaps you've heard of me.
I got a couple phone calls today, one of 'em from Steve Albini, to tell me about this TJL reunion.
I came to look at this fiction and saw that at least one fella plans on flying to the good ole USA for the reunion.

DON"T FLY ANYWHERE!!!
This reunion IS NOT HAPPENING.
First off - the ONLY way I would be part of a TJL reunion is if Mac were playing drums. I have a pretty good imagination, but I can't see that ever happening.

For the folks who got all excited - I'm sorry, but thanks for getting all excited, that's flattering.

There are still plans, and I as far as I know, Scratch Acid will be playing in Chicago (at least) as part of Touch And Go's 25 anniversary. That excites me.

Nice.

From the Touch & Go site, 2005:

David Yow... Naked Again

David Yow of Scratch Acid and The Jesus Lizard made a surprise appearance during the Melvins set at the UK All Tomorrows Parties festival. At the end of a very heavy Melvins set, Yow took control of the stage and treated the Melvins fans to renditions of the Jesus Lizard song 'Chrome' and the Melvins song 'Night Goat.'

David was in classic form... appearing onstage wearing a short, white Little Bo Peep dress with nothing on underneath. During 'Chrome,' Yow appempted contact with the crowd by leaping across the photo pit and landing on the crowd barrier. Once he made it back onstage, he proceeded to lift his dress to show the crowd the cut he had sustained on his inner thigh, right next to his balls that were covered by his cupped hands.

During 'Night Goat,' he actually made it out into the audience for a bit of crowd surfing that lasted most of the song. There was more than one bloke in the audience who must have had Yow's privates on his head before the song ended. By the time it was over, David was dumped back on stage, clutching what was left of his destroyed dress.

It was certainly a thrill to see and hear David on stage again so many years after the breakup of The Jesus Lizard. Not much has changed in those years; David's voice and command of the stage are still amazing!

I actually forego much of The Melvins to have a bit of a chat with Sean, mainly because The Melvins are WAY TOO FUCKING QUIET, but pay full attention to about the last five songs. This turns out to be a good idea, because not only are they the best ones they're also played by a band who look like they've been The Melvins for 20 years and so know exactly what they're doing. Then, just to raise the bar, King Buzzo announces a special guest. THEN DAVID FUCKING YOW APPEARS! IN A TOGA! He does two songs, dives into the crowd and returns without it. The man is a legend. Foundation, next year can we have a reformed Scratch Acid please?

Let me just say, that I love the title of this thread.

I actually like The Smiths, but in my perfect imaginary world there would be 5 threads about Scratch Acid reforming and 1 about The Smiths...
