The DiskothiQ thread

This Shrimper band (fronted by Peter Hughes) doesn't get near enough love as it deserves, especially for the Football Albums CDs. I mean, "All the best coaches suffer from heart disease"? The more you think about it, the truer it is.

A lovely moment -- Peter and Franklin B. charging the stage at UCI's pub to do an impromptu acoustic guitar set back in 1993, to the discomfiture of donut's and my friend Jen, in charging of booking bands. (Or it was something like that.)

I've seen Diskothi-Q about over a dozen times now? I think I've seen them perform all of the football songs over a couple of Super Bowl shows at the Blackwatch pub in Upland (with Furniture Huschle and Refrigerator). I still listen to The Wandering Jew... and "Massapoag".. and their Bob Hund cover is great.

eleven months pass...
Revive for XLI.

I heard "The Football Albums" for the first time today and they are quite awesome. The lyrics are great on just about everything (though as Hughes says on the web site, "Oilers" isn't much even if he clearly had a lot of fun singing it). Worth checking out given the timeliness and brilliant concept.
