The densest hipster record store scene in America?

Hometown favorites Encore Records just put out a comp of people who work there.

On it:
Saturday Looks Good To Me
Wolfeyes
Tadd Mullinix (aka Dabrye/James Cotton)
Dykehouse
Wolf Eyes
Nomo
Tim Monger

Love 'em or hate 'em individually, it's a wide assortment of labels (Polyvinyl, Sub Pop, Ghostly, Hansen, ex-Telegraph) and sounds (noise through baroque pop) represented.

Record release show was good too. Got a Godzuki album I've been looking for forever, and the Snake Charmers album from Aaron of Wolfeyes. And the comp, which is worth checking out.

Oh fuck, it took me a 2nd time to get that joke. Maybe it's cause I'm drunk or something, but yeah, that's some sweet punning.

Someone else will have to give me the band member breakdown on Zulu Records in Vancouver, but I'm gonna put that out there. Other in NYC has Tomorrow's Friend - anyone else?

Ladytron? Kinda, but I picked up the "Free Wade" album which is more like Krautrock with a low-skronk free jazz saxophone (and not coincidently, the best thing they did).

I managed to find a 7" and the album that had the calendar in it... Can't recall the title, sadly.

I was thinking "densest" in a totally diff. sense to the questioner. Imagine my puzzlement.

"Sterling Morrison? Him out of the Doors?"

The gypsies had no home, the Doors had no bass!

I don't think anyone from Other is in Tomorrow's Friend. Maybe I'm just out of touch?

Of the top of my head, these are some other OM alums (known and not-so known):

Beans
Mary Timony
Chris Brokaw
Mountains
Fireball
Hopewell
Prosaics
Mink Lungs
Rodan
