Anyone one here ever put their own music on a fileshare?

Just wondered how you managed to reach the people you wanted to hear it and how it was received...

Heh, yeah, I have...in fact it's the only way I've ever publicly released any of my own stuff, by sharing it in soulseek. Never bothered to tell anyone it was there though, or to keep track of whether anyone has downloaded any of it. I expect they probably haven't.

Just makes me wonder how much stuff is floating around out there which might conceivably be worth hearing. I used to have quite a few tracks on one of the file transfer thingies (not there now though) and, because it sounded a little Fall like, I put "Fall" in the description. Not sure how many people found it as The Fall are one of the hardest bands to find on those things anyway but I know some people did.

It would be nice if posters could maybe let people know what keywords to use and maybe the people on here could offer some feedback, constructive/positive or otherwise.

I put my stuff out on a torrent site. 30 people downloaded it, but I didn't get any feedback. Use the keywords that would have an effect on you if you wanted to downolad something.

Someone downloaded a song called "Morrissey Loves Everyone" that I recorded with a friend but didn't like it enough to get the rest of the album. I guess she was just looking for Morrissey.

The song was actually about the elasticity of supply.

I have put it in my slsk/dc directory, but I don't ever think anybody has downloaded it.
