I could not find any other talk about this one (though quite a few listed it on the best of thread). Now that i've heard it, i think it would be in my top records of last year (along with 3 other Load albums: thrones, hypermagic mountain, and arrived in gold). what other releases are worth getting by this guy?

the body language lp is amazing, don't know how available it is anymore. split w/akitsa is worth checking out if you like black metal, too.

Black Vase is easily his best, but The History Of Aids is pretty good for some more feral Whitehousey power yelp. The Baron's Chamber is a little muddy and lo-fi, but has a slowly-evolving motion to it that makes it kind of like a long noise-suite with a real beginning, middle and end.

And don't forget the Load split with Kites, which is very close to the Vase stuff, AND has Kites on it, who's last two LPs for Load you should definitely pick up before getting any more Prurient CDs (which you should also get).

That last Kites album has been slept on a bit, it's fantastic though. Ditto 'Black Vase'. I've not heard anything I've liked as much from either, I expect there's better to come

Search the "We Set Off in High Spirits" tape on Gods of Tundra from... 2003? Should be on soulseek. I was also a fan of the Troubled Sleep CD. I sold all his CDs a while ago, though.. just have that tape and the aforementioned "Body Language" LP.

one year passes...

the new album And Still Wanting is fucking INTENSE. awesome stuff...I really love Pleasure Ground and much of this is in the same vein. Synth melodies buried under gristly layers of harsh noise. i love this shit....

I'm not really into the whole power electronics stuff, but for some reason i've been into just about everything this guy has put out. I Just ordered "and still, wanting" along with the kevin drumm collab "all are guests in the house of the lord." anybody else heard it?

and still wanting will melt yr face. i've liked everything i've heard from fernow to some extent - last two load albums plus the split w/ kites - but this is on a totally diff. level, like a "Top Ten 2008 Shortlist" level.

just gave and still, wanting a first listen. i agree that it is great, probably even better than pleasure ground

there are so many dark, euphoric, gorgeous moments. beautiful packaging too. the final track "incense and rubber" is kinda what i wish most black metal sounded like.

As for the recent, gently punishing Prurient, the collab. with kevin drumm all are guests in the house of the lordis pretty great too. it is really different, though. parts of it are almost ambient and the use of samples is really cool. in a way, its even more and bleak than his other releases (and, not to mention, creepy as hell).

three weeks pass...

I was hoping I'd find some discussion on And Still, Wanting. What a great album. I thought his two mic thing made him kinda gimmicky, but this puts that stuff to shame. There are some genuinely beautiful moments coupled with the harsh noise. It's a very good blend of the two, and I think more noise artists can learn from it. I second whoever said this is Top 10 material.

It's pretty f'n great. He's definitely broke out of the Whitehouse mold for sure. I still like Pleasure Ground better, but that's just cuz it sounds like El-P w/o beats. This is his most dynamic record ever though!
