On that note, does anyone here REALLY like KRS-One? I really don't see what the big deal is. I don't think he is as smart or revolutionary as some reviewers say. He's got a few decent songs, but shit, nothing spectacular. Maybe I'm just racist. I don't know.

The songs I have heard by Hot Chip sound like really novelty Beck. Just to clarify, I think that's a bad thing.

Give me tracks, deej. and I'll get into T.I. right now. I have a dl'ed version of Trap Muzik that weirded me out when I realized Jeezy's "My Hood" (my fave track from the album) had a predecessor (that I liked just a bit less). Also, how could I forget about Ghostface?!!! Fishscale!!!

Trap Muzik is classic! His first is like his reasonable doubt, flawed, underappreciated, but very good esp. if you like hearing 'promising' rappers. His third one has some of his best songs like ASAP, What It Do and the one with Daz, although it also has some weaker tracks like the one with Lil Kim and the one with Pharell. I'd YSI some but 1) they're worth buying! and 2) (the real reason is I'm at work)

He's more lyrically dense (in the good sense) than Jeezy and I definitely prefer him as a rapper; he's more believable to me and comes across less gimmicky and his appeal is kind of like Nas in that his best songs sound a) lived-through because of the level of detail, b) effortless yet clearly too intricate to have been improvised/written in-head Jay-Z style.

He's also like Nas in that his explicitly crossover tracks often sound like he's trying way too hard. Thankfully he usually doesnt release those as singles.

Urban Legend is the only one that came out after it so far. He has a new one coming out this year.

"ASAP," "What it Do" with BG, "My Life" with Daz Dillinger, check those off of Urban Legend.

Trap muzik - "Rubberband Man," "King Of The South" "Be Easy" "Be Better Than Me" The whole thing is great - I'm sure Ethan P has different favorites too.

i also expect the ghostface album to be great, i like what breihan wrote about it. new destroyer is one of my favs as well, expecting the new twilight album as well later this year. new leviathan/lurker of chalice too

Completely agree with you on the album, solid but nothing special. The EP is much is a lot heavier though. Check out "Raising The Sparks". The acapella break down in it is one of my favourite musical moments of last year.

The Nice Device? The ones from Detroit? They're gonna have to put on a better live show before I give 'em any "Best 2006" chance.

And Pas/Cal keep having personel trouble (cancelling shows because of not being able to get time off sort of stuff). Marie and Francis are a good substitute for that sort of thing.
