Here is a musical niggle I've had for many years. It's a very slow earthy song. I can't tell if it's from the 80's or 90's, but it features a Clannad style (Gothic?) woman singing "I wanna know if it's alright, I wanna know if it's alright" and the "alright" is dragged out to 3 syllables like "al-a-right". I'm actually quite sure that's not what she singing, but that's the only think I can think of that fits the sound she makes.

I think it might have been remixed recently. I hear it sometimes as background music on TV commercials etc.

Can anyone help??

I wish there was some way I could sing this, it's a very distinctive melody that I'm sure someone would recognise.

Just think of the song "Ever So Lonely" by Monsoon (and more recently Jakatta) to think of the kind of voice and key progression. It is very similar to that song.

This is driving me nuts. Is there anywhere on the internet I can "sing" this....? LOL

My best phonetic interpretation of the lyrics is: "Haddano(pause) fits on a ryde, A-haddano(pause) fits on a ryyyyyde" (Gaelic, maybe?)

Everyone knows this song! This is killing me!!!

one year passes...

I'm a dumbass. This turned out to be "Sick and Tired" by Anastacia. The line is actually "My love is on the line"

It's from 2004 so wonder no-one could help me when I said it was "an 80s Gaelic classic".

JTS, I'm convinced someday I will find out the answer to this thread and feel similarly stupid. Take heart. At least you found your song!
