ever feel like this?

i have a hankering to listen to one record over and over again. and not a record that i've already heard. i want to get something new, and spend a long time listening to it.

are there any recent records that would be good for this?

i've spent a long time track-hopping, picking out individual, varied tracks when i listen to music. i feel bored with this now. i feel like keeping my tastes as narrow as possible for a while.

this happened to anyone else?

i have found i can listen to The Knife album more than any other released this year. the songs all work off the same palette but it's an interesting (you get the sense they've very into and particular about the sound of things), distinctive style.

I feel exactly like this at the moment. The new TV On The Radio is pretty much all I'm listening to right now. And I had the same thing with The Knife album earlier in the year.

the new Joan As Police Woman CD is the first one in ages that has fostered consecutive listenings (not counting stuff like Burial that just begs to be heard over and over, but more as wallpaper, if you will)...

Ditto on Joan As Policewoman - it's the first "glued to the CD player" album I've bought in a long, long time.

when i got the first cheap trick album i was physically unable to listen to anything else for a month. and the gossip's "standing in the way of control" is getting there (the song, not the album; i like the song too much to have it ruined by the surrounding tracks which can only pale in comparison).
