TS: Triumph - "Follow Your Heart" vs Bill Frisell - "Follow Your Heart"

Frizz wins but really, I just want to see if anyone else knows both of these. First to make a good case for Triumph has my heart 4eva. What is it with jazz guys experimenting with all kinds of musical boundaries and sticking with uber-corn titles? It's curious though there's a certain charm to it.

FWIW, Frisell's playing a John McLaughlin cover from My Goals Beyond. So that's McLaughlin's uber-corn title.

Had no idea! I can see McLaughlin playing this melody too. I'd actually noticed that there was a quality about it that was uncharacteristic of Frisell. I should check out that McLaughlin album.

Even the dumbest threads can end up teaching you something!

Not much of a surprise (shared song titles) considering how uncreative Triumph was, song-title wise. (Rivaled Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi, even.) "Spellbound", "Hold On", "Say Goodbye", woohoo...

Never heard the Frisell myself but don't need to: EVERYTHING Triumph recorded after Allied Forces (as well as much of what preceded it) is the epitome of suck. Not that I'm gonna lie and pretend that my very first concert ever didn't coincide with the release of that verysame single. (Spectacular lasers!) I believe they ended the show with it. And yes, I despised it even then.

the Triumph LP "Just A Game" unfolded to become a board game, and what a boring one it was...still, you gotta admire their spunk...they certainly fancied themselves a major arena act, even when they were playing tiny clubs...I remember a snippet from Creem, back in the day, which reported on a certain Frank Zappa being impressed with the band, and telling the bassist that they should consider getting out of Canada...to which the bassist replied "You should consider getting out of Canada as well"..."Frank walked away thinking I was a great wit", according to said bassist (whose name slips me)..."more likely *nit*wit, moose breath", rightfully opined the Creem wag...
