Do not delete this thread! Malachi Thompson, another fine, fine Chicago jazz icon and former president of the AACM died of leukemia on July 16. He played trumpet and recorded for Delmark among others. News from AAJ about Thompson is here.

Malachi Favors Maghostut of the Art Ensemble passed in January of 2004. His rock solid bass has been greatly missed.
