I was just blown away by Nappy Roots' video for Awnaw on BET. I know Outkast is amazing. What else?

For some reason I downloaded "Awnaw" months ago, before anyone had ever heard of Nappy Roots (including me, really, I don't know how it got there). I'm glad to see it getting airplay, it's really a great track. The question still lurks: who the hell are Nappy Roots?

Outkast suck. They're terrible. It's like the worst music in the world.

Cash Money is good. No Limit is sometimes-good. The Hypnotize Minds crew is good. UGK are good. Scarface and the whole Geto Boys crew are good. Trick Daddy and his Miami crew are good. Just avoid Outkast.

did anyone else enjoy that episode of Louis Theroux when he interviewed the dirty south rappers? It doesn't get more class than that!

Well, maybe Outkast aren't the worst music in the world but they've never really done anything for me. It's just kind of bland and wussy, and not in a good way (vs say the Beach Boys who are bland and wussy but pleasant)--the constant critical fawning and their legions of bland wussy college kid fans push them over the edge into hated-by-me.

[People who say No Limit = No Talent] = No Fun.

After hearing the whole Nappy Roots album it seems that they have a watered-down version of every rapper in the Dungeon Family in their group.. I liked it, but some of it sounds straight up ripped-off and that kept nagging me throughout my listening.

The Beach Boys aren't bland or wussy. BE TRUE TO YOUR SCHOOL!!!! ;-)

eight months pass...
Outkast is f--ing dope! So is the Nappy Roots all I have to say is that most rap from the south sux a duck. I wish more and more outkastism and treality instead of drink smoke kill a muufugga was portrayed in the dirty diry ! The real musik in the south was around ages before rap w/blues individuals in Arkansas ripping the sceno. Do you actually think No Limit is music? hellz naw! It is crap. Master P was cool in his early days and his heavy base hit the sceno, but now he has fallen off even buisness wise. I remember having days in high school were I would argue who is better No Limit o/Heiroglyphics. Now I do not waste my time. I have new ingredients and geniousness that will fade muufuggaz trying to come up on that new age Twista wannabe murder madness.
Peace to the gods

No, no limit we'll reach for the sky
No valley too deep, no mountain too high
No, no limit, won't give up the fight
We'll do what we want, and we do it with pride

Cash Money was awesome, but they're even better as Cash Audio, check out "Letter to Stax"!!!

Outkast and Goodie Mob are two of my favorite hip-hop groups, and Cee-Lo's solo album is one of my-most-often-spun-discs these days...absofrickinlutely fanfrickintastic.

Nappy Roots are really cool, too, in a much more mellow, less push-the-envelope-kinda way. They're great live...my friends Astrolyte (a band I was once the keyboardist for) got to open for 'em awhile back, THAT was a great show.

Master P is a great biznessman, but that No Limit stuff? If they ever make one song that doesn't make my brain want to vomit, that's a good sign the apocalypse is near. Good god that stuff is lame.

I love Kool Keith's "Dr. Dooom" album cover where he spoofs that No Limit photoshop album cover style...with the hamburger and the cockroaches and shit...hilarious!

i think that 2-pac is the best artist known to men... he is amazing and has the best music that anyone could ever think of. Along with nelly and eminem. They all have heart and soul into their music and all deserve to be on the #1 list for the #1 rappest/artist ever. They are also 100% gorious!
