I'm looking to pick up a Charles Trenet comp or something.

Amazon.co.uk is listing a lot of hack job greatest hits/best ofs.

What to get?

I can never keep straight the diff between Trenet and Aznavour in my brain.
S: "Que Reste T'Il De Nous Amours?"

The 2-disc Cocktail Hour compilation (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004SYCY/102-4409422-9036144?v=glance&n=5174) is all the Trenet I'll ever need. It's a great compilation. But then again the only song I really need by him is "Que Reste-T'il De Nos Amours".

Huk-L beat me to it on both counts.

Also
S: "Boum!" (pr. "Boom!" Do all his songs end in punctuation and feature in soundtracks?)

See if it includes "Je Chante" (sp?), which is also included on the Sheltering Sky soundtrack - that was my introduction to Trenet, and it remains one of my favorite songs...

Y'La D'La Joie is good too.

The Cocktail hour comp has Je Chante alright.

Ruud are you recommending the Boum! compilation or just the song?

This is helpful

Just the song. I heard it about a million times watching the movie Toto Le Hero. Wait, I watched the movie a few times- make that three million times.
