iTunes 7 with large library/Managing large library

Has anyone updated to iTunes 7 with a large music library? By large i mean over 100GB of music? I'm currently on an iBook G4 with 1.5gigs of RAM and a 250+GB music library. I want to switch but i'm concerned it's going to be a mess.

Also, i'm running iTunes 6 now across 2 external harddrives and plan on doing a DVD backup soon. Has anyone done a DVD backup with music stored in 2 seperate locations?

I have 118 gigs, and it's fine other then sometimes having a "scanning music library" status bar for about 20 seconds when starting iTunes.

It'll be a looooong wait while it calculates gap information and tries to find artwork. After that it shouldn't be any worse than iTunes 6.

Have you considered online storage? I use MP3tunes.com soas not to have yet more media lying about the flat to fall over. It keeps everything tidy and safe from drive failure with the bonus that you can access your library from anywhere across this lil ole world of ours.

I have 500 gigs or so. It can handle that volume fine, although as m.h. said, the first time you run it, it takes awhile to scan.
