I was searching for a Bobby Goldsboro thread and this, somewhat disppointingly is all I found.
It's not true, tho. Summer (The First Time) doesn't actually do this! And it has a pretty astounding sound to it.

I think you'll find it does, however, bar a meaningful additional whole tone descending piano motif.

The single before it, "Brand New Kind Of Love," is a lost classic.
Bobby G rules... no, not that one

Bobby G rules for good music: Must have SOUL, oh aye. Must get me HIGH, aye aye aye. Must have swapped my milk tokens for it in 1962. Must have KYLIE STRENGTH. Must not be Wee Jimmy Osmond or the Wombles or anything else I was ACTUALLY listening to in childhood, aye.

I can't remember why I called this thread, that.

It was a Bullshit thread dedicated to the other Bobby G

Time surely to acknowledge the THIRD Bobby G: that lovable rogue from Bucks Fizz who struck out successfully on his own in 1984 with the cheeky theme to the popular BBC series Big Deal!

Gubby? Oh yes, of course, he knocks the 2nd Bobby G into a cocked hat.

Yesterday's 50th anniversary commemoration should have reminded us that Bobby Gillespie saved Matt Busby from certain death in the Munich crash by scuttling out of the airshaft in which he'd been hiding as a stowaway and using his Oor Wullie muffler to stem the flow of blood to the future MAN UNITED HERO

Later, while recuperating in hospital, Bobby befriended a child in an adjoining bed, teaching him a few rudimentary chords on a battered old ukelele he had rescued from the wreckage - that child grew up to be Chris Karrer, guitarist with Amon Duul II

Unfortunately wee Steve Morrissey, whose ukelele it was, caught up with him when he came back to school after his discharge and flushed his heid doon the toilet bowl until he gave it back. "WAAAA!! 'SNO FAIR!" Bobby quipped.
