Sorry I couldn't word it well but listening to Dylan this morning gave me a little laugh and made me wonder what the brilliant minds here could dredge up. I'm looking for songs that aren't really linked, but could be? (i.e. not looking for the Bowie/Peter Schilling kind of song connection)
I got a bird that whistles,
I got a bird that sings.
I got a bird that whistles,
I got a bird that sings.
But I ain' a-got Corrina,
Life don't mean a thing.
Bob Dylan - Corrina, Corrina 1963
You tell that you've ev'rything you want,
And your bird can sing,
But you don't get me,
You don't get me.
You say you've seen seven wonders,
And your bird is green,
But you can't see me,
You can't see me.
Beatles - And Your Bird Can Sing 1966

Pavement's "Zurich is Stained", the first few lines really remind me of those from the Minutemen's "There Ain't Shit on TV Tonight" even though they're not that similar.

Very nice. I also thought of Blur's For Tomorrow vs T-Rex/Placebo "He's a twentieth century boy...."

doesn't that redneck supergroup lynyrd skynyrd take neil young's 'southern man' to task?
also, dylan takes a pretty stab at the fab four's 'norwegian wood' in his classic '4th time around'

Ahahah I forgot about 4th Time Around!
I doubt anyone's ever heard the song, but Kula Shaker's "Dance in your Shadow" (was on my special edition "K") is a blatant ripoff of the tune of Norwegian Wood as well.
