Has anybody checked this band out yet? They were reccomended to me because I was a Rollerskate Skinny fan. I picked up thier new CD called "Down Beside Your Beauty" over the weekend and it hasn't really done much for me yet. It isn't bad at all, just kind of boring. Sounds like a band we will be seeing on MTV soon. Now I have to dig through the old CDs and see if I still am a Rollerskate Skinny fan.

Their sound has a certain studied asthetic that gives me pause. At the same time, its highly addictive. I'm expecting dimishing returns from repeated listening to kick in rather shortly. In the mean time, though, I'm loving the choruses and sentiments.

I've actually seen them live a bunch - they're friends of friends - and vaguely enjoyed their demo recordings but I think they're just OK. sometimes I catch myself singing choruses of theirs, not because I love it, but because they have hints of that thing that makes bands 'catchy.' Can't say i've really cought it yet, though.
