POO: Small town indie

Because it gets a much worse rep than any other type of indie around here, and, y'know, Lexbait.

So yeah: populations under 100,000, no university, dead-eyed inhabitants that don't know what to do, and the song's hero searching for SOMETHING MORE. "Common People" doesn't count.

Sadly, he will be the next Alexis Petridish. (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 27 September 2006 11:47 (nineteen years ago)

if anyone can name a single worthwhile song from this genre i will be amazed. everyone connected to it should be taken out back and shot. (with 50 cent's big gun.)

The fact that no one knows about this Outside Rock is in part what makes it so great. I could name hundreds of great small town Indie songs, but then all of you would know about them, and to be honest, we dont want you to know about them...
If you really want to know about them, you are gonna have to do more research than just some half assed internet search. Your gonna have to go to the small towns and get to know the people, then if you are lucky and the people like you they might--MIGHT--just let you in on the most wonderful secret since Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory...
