The Sunday looks pretty sweet. Actually, I would love to see Pengo too, and the Polly Shang Kuan Band are always a real blast.
I'm toying with the idea of going to see a whole bunch of this, but it all depends on money and family stuff. More power to that man Nyoukis for making this happen though.

Hopefully/presumably, as with all the ATP action, most of these bands will do a London show or two as well. I know MV&EE are...

― Michael K, Wednesday, 12 September 2007 08:16 (eighteen years ago)
I didn't make it for any of the nights, actually. Would love to have gone Friday, but I had to work late.
What happened with the choir? Did ya catch Henri Chopin?
― Michael Dudikoff presents Action Adventure Theatre, Wednesday, 12 September 2007 10:10 (eighteen years ago)

why do i know the name dylan nyoukis? is he the ashtray navigations dude?
― am0n, Monday, 4 August 2008 15:10 (seventeen years ago)
No, he's the Prick Decay/Decaer Pinga dude. Scottish feller with a shaved head. He's played at No Fun Fest a few times I think.
― NickB, Monday, 4 August 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)
Done stuff with Alan Bishop and Thurston Moore and whatnot too.
― NickB, Monday, 4 August 2008 15:19 (seventeen years ago)
ah ok. i'd love to be there for vco and skullflower
― am0n, Monday, 4 August 2008 15:46 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, out of everything, those are exactly the two things I'd really like to see as well.
― NickB, Monday, 4 August 2008 18:26 (seventeen years ago)
where is Tazartes? not that I can go to this, just wondering.
― sleeve, Monday, 4 August 2008 23:49 (seventeen years ago)
Reines D'Angleterre (Ghedalia Tazartes / Jo Tanz / él-g)
I'd quite like to see G*Park do his thing. And Rat Bastard is hilarious.

events conspire to make me miss this every year
― documentary about titties OST (+ +), Friday, 11 November 2011 12:59 (fourteen years ago)
me too, i never have any holiday left by the time this rolls round. doubly frustrating as i have a friend in brighton happy to offer me free bed and board for the duration.
must admit, this year's line-up is the most obscure (to me) so far. but that's as much of a turn-on as a turn-off.
― Ward Fowler, Friday, 11 November 2011 14:02 (fourteen years ago)
Have to give this a miss too cos of family stuff. Only things on the bill I'm familiar with are Jozef Van Wissem, Harappian Night Recordings, Anla Courtis, Smack Music 7, Bohman Brothers and the Laundry Room Squelchers.
― Lars and the Lulu Girl (NickB), Friday, 11 November 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)
I lived in Brighton for five years, this whole Brighton noise scene only seemed to take off once I left. There were always interesting gigs being put on though, mostly of roots and Americana under the banner of The Gilded Palace of Sin.
― ban this sick stunt (anagram), Friday, 11 November 2011 15:05 (fourteen years ago)
I'm a-going. Don't know much on the bill but rarely do and it's always been great.

Dylan's been putting shows on here for yonks but a lot of its been a bit under the radar. Kind of lost touch with that scene about 5 years ago, but there were always shows going on in these funny little venues that probably don't exist any more.
― Lars and the Lulu Girl (NickB), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:36 (fourteen years ago)
Holy fucking shit Dylan was amazing tonight. Really fucking ominous sonics, sub-bass Sunn shit with creepy kids' voices going "where are you Dylan" and similar, as the two main musicians were wandering blindfolded around a pitch black venue. They were trying to find each other using flashes from cameras, which meant every time we took a photo we were complicit in keeping them apart. It was AMAZING.
― emil.y, Sunday, 13 November 2011 06:26 (fourteen years ago)
Haha, I was very drunk when I wrote that. But I'm drunk again now. Today was also pretty great, a couple of duff acts aside. Vinyl Terror and Horror were far and away my favourite - female turntablists are the absolute best.
― emil.y, Monday, 14 November 2011 04:16 (fourteen years ago)
did you happen to see Darksmith? i was unable to make it, but he was one of the few I was looking forward to. from what i read on twitter, it sounded like he may have had a bit of a meltdown/tantrum.
― chlamydian girl (+ +), Monday, 14 November 2011 14:04 (fourteen years ago)
Ah no, sadly me and the mister had to miss the Friday night as we were DJing elsewhere. I did hear rumours of a meltdown but don't know exactly what happened.
I'm still beaming about Vinyl Terror and Horror.
― emil.y, Monday, 14 November 2011 14:53 (fourteen years ago)
when I saw Dylan Nyoukis recently there was a stage invasion at the end led by small children who joined him for an encore.
Dylan Nyoukis is funny. I think it was realising that small children (possibly his small children) loved his "music" made me love it too.
― The New Dirty Vicar, Monday, 14 November 2011 15:06 (fourteen years ago)
Think he's done quite a few children's workshops now where he teaches kids how to make improvised noise music. Not that this is alien concept to them or anything mind.
― Lars and the Lulu Girl (NickB), Monday, 14 November 2011 15:16 (fourteen years ago)
There were a few kids at the festival, yeah - usually I get pissed off about people bringing their kids along to stuff but it was interesting to see their response to this sort of stuff. Also I think they were probably Nyoukis/Constance children (at least one of them was) so could well have been more jaded experimental/noise gig-goers than me.
