You know my (soon to be) ex wife actually made the name up over a curry in Borough Green. I was really struggling to think of something that might work. I kept thinking of Play, but of course there's a PlayStation mag with that name. Eventually she said, 'Why not Playmusic?' History was made over that curry...

Chaos ensued in Camden on Sunday as Clash Magazine’s Sunday Sessions returned to the Lock Tavern with a capacity-full crowd stuffed in to see a rousing return from The Thrills.

I can't believe that of all the 'alternative' bands on the British indie scene, Biffy Clyro had to be the ones who made the huge commercial breakthrough. ARGH.

Yeah, that's something that keeps me awake at night as well. Ten Benson could have been someone.

it's a shame louis has become southall's padawan, an apprentice dj martian would have been far more entertaining.

DJ Martian holds a certain sway! Without him I wouldn't be such a massive fan of Ulver's 'Blood Inside'. His vast depth of knowledge is of consistent use to me.

No, because they're not always going to be right. If they recommend something I like the look of, I'll give it a go, but there's plenty of stuff they like which really isn't my kind of thing. In fact, I don't go by 'status', I go by quality of recommendation, so if ANYONE here suggests something I like the look of (see: the 90's alternative masterpieces WANTED thread) then I'll investigate. There are people here who seem to take more of an interest in my musical upbringing, which is nice, but any decent lead and I'm off. Even you, Dom; your enthusiasm for Half Man Half Biscuit has gone a long way to persuading me to check them out. Certainly the lyrics you've reposted here have been pretty awesome.
