Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

Any love for 'I'll be your baby tonight'?

sonofstan (sonofstan), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 17:01 (nineteen years ago)

Glad to see that "Where Are You Tonight (Journey Through Dark Heat)" is here twice already. Make it three.

wolfwolfwolf (wolfwolfwolf), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 17:14 (nineteen years ago)

Never mind about Tiny Montgomery. It was last on the Basement Tapes cassette, but on the CD the last song is This Wheel's On Fire.

My vote is for It's All Over Now Baby Blue.

kornrulez6969 (TCBeing), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 17:14 (nineteen years ago)

I'd say I'll Be Your Baby Tonight if it wasn't for Baby Blue.

dan. (dan.), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 18:47 (nineteen years ago)

PETE SMITH!!!! (plsmith), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

Dark Eyes (Empire Burlesque closer) is maybe his best song from the 80s ... deserves consideration.

Hanft (GeorgesV), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 21:58 (nineteen years ago)

...and let's not forget full title: "Where Are You Tonight (Journey Through the Dark Heat)"

shookout (shookout), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 11:46 (nineteen years ago)

Like A Rolling Stone, live at the "Albert Hall," 1966.

"I Shall Be Free"

"Desolation Row" is a boring "acid poetry" piece of shit.

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Thursday, 19 October 2006 21:43 (nineteen years ago)

no it's not.

i pick that one, btw.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 19 October 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

"I Shall Be Free" seconded, just discovered it recently and boy is it great! I was going to say "Black Diamond Bay" but I always forget there's some boring song after that even though it feels like the end of the album to me....

Doctor Casino (Doctor Casino), Thursday, 19 October 2006 23:54 (nineteen years ago)

desolation row is not shit!!!

a name means a lot just by itself (lfam), Friday, 20 October 2006 01:17 (nineteen years ago)

desolation row or last from the last album

piotr (pyotreck), Friday, 20 October 2006 07:18 (nineteen years ago)

doctor casino, 'sara' is not boring!

Charlie Howard (the sphinx), Saturday, 21 October 2006 04:29 (nineteen years ago)

Waited a couple days on this, but what the hell is "I Shall Be Free"?

Bear, is that you? (wolfwolfwolf), Saturday, 21 October 2006 05:49 (nineteen years ago)

desolation row is not "acid poetry." it's a jumble of one-liners about politics, art, annoying hipsters on the block, etc., that are given shape and purpose by the decoder-ring in the last verse. (granted i didn't really figure this out until i sat down to learn the thing and spent a few days memorizing it. but that 10th verse pulls the song together in a pretty coherent way.)
