HUNTA-V (vahid), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

for someone who is apparently so popular, the ILM "dance massive" is sure doing a good job of ignoring him.

i'll say this: the "villa" disc of his recent MoS comp left me cold for the most part, even though the 2nd half had some pretty good dub-house-by-way-of-ame type action ... it'll be interesting to see as these guys (jazzanova fans who finally caught on to basic channel?) develop their form where the twain shall meet (as dudes like soundstream and vladislav delay go more and more trad-funky)

"the club" disc on the other hand ... fan-fucking-tastic!! how you can unironically enjoy "good life" or dj rolando and then give this disc the cold shoulder is beyond me. and the 2nd half is equally as good ... king unique's "to the left" is the illest flip of a mentasm since ... well, forever! and steve angello's mix of "who's who" ... it's like tiefschwarz, except fun to listen to!

HUNTA-V (vahid), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 18:36 (nineteen years ago)

seriously people, go here and listen! and then buy it! and play it in your car and on your ipod and feel like you're shopping for diesel jeans and polo shirts all the time, even when you're not!!

gaseous (gaseous), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 23:40 (nineteen years ago)

Axwell is consistently excellent, has been for years, and as far as I'm concerned he's one of the best house producers around - he's much more than the one-dimensional filterhouse manufacturer he's made out to be. But he's a categorically unhip Swedish whiteboy, popular with the Hed Kandi crowd, no interesting socio-cultural angle, no associaton with famous historical people or labels, so no ILM love. See also: Angello & Ingrosso, Full Intention, Seamus Haji, Kris Menace, Richard Grey.

Hi Siegbran!!

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Thursday, 19 October 2006 11:00 (nineteen years ago)

I have never heard Axwell. You guys make him sound like Angel Alanis meets Jason Nevins.

interesting analysis of the way to play the digital game.

Limit promo tracks to ZERO

suspect that this is going to become the key element to such campaigns.

no warmth, no emotion, just clinical online marketing manipulation.
