my new favourite, dismantling 'thumb' after a reign of some 12 years, is 'writhe'. rocks my very socks off.

'50M Year Trip'....love it

J. Grizzle (trainsmoke), Thursday, 19 October 2006 12:47 (nineteen years ago)

50MYT thirded!

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 12:53 (nineteen years ago)

freedom run, duders, freedom run

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 19 October 2006 13:00 (nineteen years ago)

(the long solo after the first singing bit)

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 19 October 2006 13:07 (nineteen years ago)

man, thumb through thong song is one of my fave stretches on any record ever

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

freedom run, although i prefer welcome to sky valley a whole load more.

wogan lenin (dog latin), Thursday, 19 October 2006 15:15 (nineteen years ago)

"Green Machine". The segue from "Thumb" into it is one of my all-time favourites.

LC (Damian), Thursday, 19 October 2006 15:21 (nineteen years ago)

yeah sky valley doesn't get enough respect

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:33 (nineteen years ago)

well shit, none of them get enough respect

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

I don't know, isn't Circus usually seen as the weak link? I would have thought Sky Valley was the established fan fave or whatever is closest to a canonical Kyuss album. I like Circus best, but I can see why people might be inclined to overlook it.

LC (Damian), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:53 (nineteen years ago)

really? i always thought red sun was the one most people like

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 19 October 2006 17:12 (nineteen years ago)

i thought sky valley was generally seen as the kyuss fan's kyuss album, while blues is "the one you should get first." of course this is all from le intrenet so it means nada, but yeah.

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 17:16 (nineteen years ago)

(sky valley's my fave, too)

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 17:16 (nineteen years ago)

ha ha most innocuous ilx argument ever

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 19 October 2006 20:26 (nineteen years ago)

kyuss fans are well-adjusted and tolerant of others

ZR (teenagequiet), Thursday, 19 October 2006 20:46 (nineteen years ago)

sky valley's the first one i heard and enjoyed - in fact so much so that i only really listen to the first like 7 or 8 songs and then that's enough for me. cos of this i've never really properly delved into the rest of their catalogue - i guess i'm never quite stoned enough to listen to loads of kyuss, much as i love them.

wogan lenin (dog latin), Thursday, 19 October 2006 22:40 (nineteen years ago)

Circus!

A Viking of Some Note (Andrew Thames), Friday, 20 October 2006 08:00 (nineteen years ago)

speking of kyuss, i finally ripped and painstakingly seperated the four tracks into 11 songs on wtsv - whose idea was it to do it as suites? it doesn't make sense and it puts me off listening to it if i just wanna hear supa scoppa and mighty scoop without having to fastforward through gardenia and asteroid?

wogan lenin (dog latin), Friday, 20 October 2006 08:11 (nineteen years ago)

My CD copy has the tracks indexed separately. I bought it going on nine years ago - I would have assumed that all subsequent pressings would have been the same.

LC (Damian), Friday, 20 October 2006 11:56 (nineteen years ago)

ZR is right.
and
Why would anyone wanna fast forward through Gardenia?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 20 October 2006 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

i got my copy as part of a 3-cd boxset and it's sequenced as 4 tracks (the last one being that pointless secret track). of course gardenia is ace, but sometimes i just wanna hear supa scoop.

wogan lenin (dog latin), Friday, 20 October 2006 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

I always enjoy playing albums as a whole I guess.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 20 October 2006 17:00 (nineteen years ago)

the fiery debate on this thread continues!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 20 October 2006 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

50MYT.

followed by Allen's Wrench+Mondo Generator.
yeah, i know....

edde (edde), Friday, 20 October 2006 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

odyssey is maybe my fave kyuss track, but bftrs definitely my fave album of theirs

Charlie Howard (the sphinx), Saturday, 21 October 2006 04:28 (nineteen years ago)

Kyuss are AWESOME, dude. But 50mytrip I guess.

A Viking of Some Note (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 21 October 2006 05:21 (nineteen years ago)

four months pass...
'demon cleaner' is slammin as far as sky valley goes.
