What's up with THAT? Let's list pop music's biggest mysteries

Inspired by this: The most interesting pieces of pop music trivia that you know (that are 100% false)

1. How could it be that there was an indie rock band called Franz Ferdinand before someone thought of naming an underground rap group or industrial band Franzt Fanon?

2. If we took all of the drugs that have ever entered Keith Richard's body and hypothetically sold them all back to drug dealers across the world, by how much would that stimulate the world's underground economy?

3. If Neil Young had produced Forever Changes, would it have been too early in Young's career for him to turn that whole album into an album about heroin abuse? Would he have insisted the incapacited members of Love rejoin the band for authenticity? Would "Bummer in the Summer" still be on that album?

Questions, questions!

wow. that old thread linked the in the first post is amazing. why did so many people with absolutely no wit keep posting horrible attempts at humor over and over? that dom passantino fellow had 10s of them and not a single funny one.

Dan Gr (certain), Sunday, 22 October 2006 14:42 (nineteen years ago)

acrobat (elwisty), Sunday, 22 October 2006 15:39 (nineteen years ago)

I notice you can get the letters "Dan Gr" from the phrase David Ryder-Prangley! I suspect someone's mascara's running from the tears!

Sadly, he will be the next Alexis Petridish. (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 22 October 2006 15:42 (nineteen years ago)

i'm going to leap to passantino's defence here. some of them were actually very witty, especially the GY!BE one, which is the best post on that entire thread.

mine's a bit lame. must think of a better one at some point...

How Geir Got His Groove Back. Except he hates grooves.

I was hoping for this thread to be mysteries within pop music. Like, what was Billie Joe throwing off the bridge? What the hell happened in "$1000 Wedding?" Is Johnny queer? Things like that.

clotpoll (Clotpoll), Monday, 23 October 2006 02:57 (nineteen years ago)

B-b-but didn't he fall in love with the girl?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 23 October 2006 09:30 (nineteen years ago)

I would feel bad about creating a thread for this question so I'll just ask it in here and hope for an answer. What's the name of the french filter house song with the video that consists of nothing more than a close up of two people kissing?

Lovelace (Lovelace), Monday, 23 October 2006 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

I was referring to the classic "Johnny Are You Queer?" by Josie Cotten.
