but i don't want to destroy that, dude

ZR (teenagequiet), Saturday, 28 October 2006 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, that's a killer comp!

latebloomer: none of th movies make scence but they r good. (latebloomer), Monday, 30 October 2006 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

Needs more Hyper-On Experience.

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Monday, 30 October 2006 18:59 (nineteen years ago)

I was hoping track 9 was Screaming Fist - Screaming Fist but I was dissappointed to find I had read it wrong. Shame there isn't any space for the comically fast Hüsker Dü Land Speed Record.

Rufus 3000 (Mr Noodles), Monday, 30 October 2006 19:49 (nineteen years ago)

Nice! And surprised to see the Tar Babies on there! Sort of a companion to/expansion of the American Hardcore s/t...

Pete Scholtes (Pete Scholtes), Monday, 30 October 2006 21:26 (nineteen years ago)

Needs something by the Fix! The new comp on T&G fucking rocks! About time they got reissued properly, the sound is way better than on that Cold Hands boot.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

So you gonna make that collection available yourself?

cornyrocker (DC Steve), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 16:18 (nineteen years ago)

indeed.

Hoosteen (Hoosteen), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

"indeed?" rather

Hoosteen (Hoosteen), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

Huskers were THE band of the 80s for me.

'I'll Never Forget You 'should be on there- how could I forget? That or 'Bricklayer'

Tar Babies from Madison , Humberside - they followed up with two right great albums, 'Fried Milk' and 'Honey Bubble'.

Never heard Screaming Fist, Hyper-On Experience or the Fix.

Let's trade tapes and 'zines!!!

Jessie the Drunk Dutch Mountain Dog (Jessie the Drunk Dutch Mountai), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 22:48 (nineteen years ago)

Cos the majority of that is pre 1985. I need educating!!!

Jessie the Drunk Dutch Mountain Dog (Jessie the Drunk Dutch Mountai), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

I'm curious whatever happened to Tony Jarvis, sax man on Honey Bubble...

Pete Scholtes (Pete Scholtes), Tuesday, 31 October 2006 23:25 (nineteen years ago)

oh yeah.

I started chuckling with joy around track 22, nodding and whispering "yes, yes....".

Many of these tracks are among my very favorites.

Who are The Fleshies?

sleeve version 2.0 (sleeve testing), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 03:56 (nineteen years ago)

i would have chosen different born against and freeze tracks. otherwise, this looks great.

WHAT HAPPN TO 27 N 28????

Shoes say, yeah, no hands clap your good bra. (goodbra), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 06:34 (nineteen years ago)

are the American Hardcore film, s/t, and book related? i picked up the book the other day and am actually really enjoying it

nervous (cochere), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 06:49 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, they are all related.

Needs something by the Fix! The new comp on T&G fucking rocks!

Is this out in the UK as of now?

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 10:13 (nineteen years ago)

The Fleshies have albums on Alternative Tentacles. That's all I know about them. I coincidentally have them on my Slsk wishlist... which is also how I know the Fix comp is great, so I don't know if it's out in the UK yet. I will be buying it if/when it is.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 1 November 2006 10:35 (nineteen years ago)

a good comp. my only quibbles are the lack of necros or landspeed record representation and the inclusion of "i'm not a loser." i love the descendents, but that song captures all of the idiocy that plagued so-cal hardcore with none of the redeeming elements.

Godfrzej Ljang (godfrzej), Thursday, 2 November 2006 00:26 (nineteen years ago)

you suck let's futtbuck

latebloomer: none of th movies make scence but they r good. (latebloomer), Thursday, 2 November 2006 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

this list is solid as hell, but for me and my friends, I'd add:

BAD RELIGION We're only all gonna die
GG ALLIN You hate me and I hate you
NEGATIVE APPROACH Can't Tell No One
CRO-MAGS Age of Quarrel
SUBHUMANS Mickey Mouse is Dead
CONFLICT Kings and Punks

and maybe some SSD and Suicidal Tendencies
