I'd liked the first album well enough but hadn't paid attention after that. But I'm finishing listening to the new one, Let's Build a Fire, and damn if there isn't life in these folks yet. It kept catching me off guard just a bit as I listened.

It's none of the major Versus players, is it? Anyway, the drummer is awesome.

The slash in the name totally ruins it.

I too liked the s/t album ,but there was just something missing - in the same vein as the post 'Secret Swingers' Versus.

Two ex members of Versus in Plus/Minus i think - but sadly not the main man or the delightfully named Fontaine Toups. That self titled album certainly sounded like Versus to me.

Might have to give this one a try.

i'm wondering how this album turned out - their second was extremely forgettable and i hardly ever listen to them anymore. but i still have a soft spot for The Queen Of Detroit ... what a good song

three years pass...

Their entire output has been consistently engaging. I love the quietloudquiet approach and the stuttering electronica mixture added to blistering guitars.

They've just put out a new tour EP, "Thrown Into The Fire", available from the site.

four years pass...

And now their first new album in 6 years, "Jumping The Tracks". It's a bit quieter than previous but with the occasional shoegazey touch, good stuff.
