It seems to me that the key question is this: do TYPATDEC give each other downloads as gifts?
If not, then the Xmas chart might be the least download-related of the lot, no? As people's spends are going on presents and partying. If there are such things as download vouchers, these presumably get spent after the big day?
The modern world is most confusing.

However Gennaro Castaldo, spokesman for retailer HMV, believes Sir Cliff Richard may be in line for his fourth Christmas Number One, with a cover of his hit single Move It, featuring Queen guitarist Brian May.
"You can never rule out Sir Cliff when it comes to Christmas," said Mr Castaldo.
"And by teaming up with the likes of Brian May and Daniel O'Donnell, and their considerable fan bases, he's giving himself every chance of landing his 15th UK number one - putting him just two behind The Beatles."

As I have said on many other similar threads, something like 70% of all record sales in Britain per year occur over the Xmas period, thus it is the prime market, thus the Xmas #1 hype.
