TMZ can now confirm the Internet rumors are true: Prince will be moving into the Rio hotel in Las Vegas.

Prince will play Friday and Saturday nights at 3121, the club formerly known as Club Rio, beginning November 10. Tickets for Prince's shows will run $125. Shows on Wednesday night will feature guest performances by friends of Prince, while Thursday nights will be 3121 Latin Labido Night. Tickets for those two nights will be $31.21.

In addition to the $125 cover, patrons have the option of a special dinner and show package available for $312.10 per person: minimum of two guests; includes dinner at 3121 Jazz Cuisine, VIP tickets to the performance, and one bottle with table service per two guests.

In addition to the new club, a restaurant will open called 3121 Jazz Cuisine featuring a brand new menu created by Executive Chef Lena Morgan.

A source also tells us that Prince is staying in the Palazzo Suites at the Rio -- the hotel's VIP suites and a favorite of stars like Elton John.

Tickets can be ordered at the Rio Box Office at 702-777-7776, at any Ticketmaster outlet or by visiting www.vegas.com. Tickets will go on sale this week.

Will he bro out with Penn and Teller, who also live in the Palazzo Suites? And sit at the Shutters Bar and watch the parade of hotel-sanctioned hookers? And party in the Voodoo Lounge?

The two times I went to Vegas (2001 and 2002) I saw Prince Tribute band.... wait for it.... PURPLE REIGN!!!!

Waaaaaaay cheaper than seeing the real prince. they were playing in the Holiday Inn. Purple Reign's shows were followed by much reverie at Club Rio and Voodoo Lounge though.

Why do I find this remarkably sad?

Hahaha RIGHT AFTER my last post, I got a call that one of my clients needed assistance. It turned out to be the Las Vegas Convention Bureau. Apparently, they forgot to inform us they were bringing along an Elvis impersonator. This is exactly the kind of shit that makes a bad day worse.

A prince impersonator would have been a hilarious suprise though.

i may be going to vegas in january. $125 might be too steep for my grad-student budget though.

Lovin the Purple Reign picture there, they all look so utterly uncool. Particularly the white guy at the back.

Purple Reign was one of the most fun nights of my life. The band bought shots for me and my friends during thier break, let me sing the chorus to "pussy control" and did "seven" as an encore when we demanded it even though they claimed they hadn't rehersed it in months.

Fake Prince actually plays a mean electric guitar and does the splits in high-heeled boots as well as carefully coreographed routines with his exotic dancer girls.

Even though he's not pictured above, when I saw them they had that guy who plays keyboardsa and wears green scrubs and the surgical mask. (can't remember his name).

seems like a good fit for him, considering he always seems to jam with his band for small/private audiences between tours and after concerts anyway, he might as well do the same thing for a paying audience of megafans who'll love it whether or not he plays the hits.

What are the chances that Prince and Tom Jones do a duet of "Kiss"?

This might actually get me back to Vegas before the apocalypse.

Purple Reign's Prince actually looks like the love child of Prince and Dick Van Dyke.

For some reason this does seem to make sense to me. And I'd love it if he featured some of the folks in the montage on 3121.com. However, I'm just not sure if I'll ever make it out to this. And what exactly would "Latin Labido Night" be?

Atleast we know where we can see Prince live if we really need to. That prospect is comforting. And over-the-top Prince was always the best Prince in my opinion.

(Hint: that's not how you spell "libido".)
