More people should listen to her. Not familiar with her sister Nadja's work, but I love her unusual arrangements and melodic/harmonic patterns. So young when she composed all these wonderful things, too... and they still sound so delightfully weird and totally not Ravel/Debussy emulations. The Igor Markevitch recordings of "Pie Jesu" and "Vieille prière bouddhique" are fucking beautiful.

One of my favorite composers. The first recording I heard was the early '90s CD of piano and chamber pieces and it was amazing to hear the Markevitch album and how different her large ensemble pieces are.

Also really recommend the 1976 biography by Leonie Rosenstiel if you can find a copy at a library (doesn't seem to be an easy book to find used).
