two years pass...

Driving Me Backwards came on the iPod Shuffle as I walked through Brick Lane the other evening. It was dark, but too early to be busy. It was the perfect music for that walk. Starts a bit like Alabama Song, then the voices come in. Now I know where TV On The Radio got it from. I was stunned. I hadn't heard the song. It was on my computer but I hadn't heard it. London's veneers were heat-stripped by Eno's death-drone. Music for sociopathic moods and solo walks through places that are supposed to be social.

So yeah, like (some) TV On The Radio but way way better.

still faint praise!
i just finished the Eno bio from last year -- pretty good, I'd recommend it. Dude had a busy, amazing life in the 1970s.

It's always sounded like quite a Wyatt-ish song to me for some reason.

I can see that – kind of a "Born Again Cretin" vibe.
