cause i have a record for that list:
runt: todd rundgren - the ballad of..

i'm starting to think it's my favourite rundgren record ever.
"bleeding" and "boat on the charles" are pure masterpieces of songwriting and instrument playing, and are his best songs.

I have moments like this every year. I mean, I didn't hear Gang Of Four's _Entertainment!_ until I was 30 and it blew my mind. This year it's The Associates primarily, with John Foxx-era Ultravox and his first couple of solo albums. I can't understand how I missed this stuff back in the day.

Not sure how 'classic' any of these are, but...

Graham Nash / David Crosby - s/t (1972?)
Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster
Bad Religion - How Could Hell Be Any Worse?

(see how negative connotations limit your chances of finding amazing records? I hate CSNY, Social D and Bad Religion, but was convinced to check out these 'good ones amongst the crap' and love them all)

Well, there's this, but, anyway, Takling Heads' first four albums (minus Fear of Music which I'm getting asap). It's fun to be a joyous fan of a band again.
