Can't C Me has one of the ten best Dre productions evah, and that line, "My own mama say I'm thugged out/My shit be poppin' out the record stores as if it was a drug house." 2Pac sounding so intense.

Cali love remix is classic if only for the Troutman vocoder a capella at the end. Anyway, "How Do U Want It", (best summer song ever?) followed by "Ambitionz az a Ridah" & "Heartz of Men"

My favourite hip-hop album ever!

Voted "Can't C Me" but there are lots of really great G-funk tracks here. Shame about the rapping, but the rest of the music is great.

gotta say "What's Ya Phone #" is really the only flat out 'dud' to me on Disc 1

i feel like I only whip these discs out during moments of extreme stress. it always does the trick tho

sad that 4tay's career didn't launch more...just got "Don't Fight the Feelin" of his....underrated

"thug passion" is the most underrated joint

always return to this one and "I Got My Mind Made Up" always slays me the most. it has multiple verses that still repeat in my head all the time, particularly Pac's, Method Man's, and Kurupt's. just quality lyricism front to back, kinda a "fuck you, East Coast, we can do this too" type of feel to it....sandwiched in the middle of some trad West Coast jamz.

the movie felt way too much like a lifetime biopic rather than something complex, thoughtful or gritty. At best it was fun at times though (the soundtrack certainly helps things)

yeah, sonically it's stunning. thematically, lyrically, it's probably his masterwork.

just the first notes of "Ambitionz as a Ridah" are enough to get me amped.

I still love the abstract west coast vs east coast lyricism of "I Got My Mind Made Up", with a relative who's who of guests on it, the lyrics of each verse I can still recite from memory.

"Holla at Me" has a great chorus too.
