I was kinda disappointed in this one actually, esp after seeing such a great live set.

I bought this the same day as the "triangles" album and um, this paled in comparison. maybe its the other guys' singing voices impeding my enjoyment...

i mean, it sounds like one of the best jam-band records ive ever heard. the live show (i think i saw them at their last show before recording) was totally predictive of the record for me. there's some sort of "elevator-goes-sideways" WTF-awes quality to the record, even compared with earlier HH stuff, in the way they TOTALLY embrace this bluesy, catchy, jam-form that the last record started to get into. its a weird bunch of songs, but in a pretty singular, somewhat unexpectedly (but very) awesome way.

xp i do like the singing on the NMH tracks the best, but my favorite isnt one of his...

It keeps changing for me - this album has no bad songs - but I voted for 5DJBG.

maybe its the other guys' singing voices impeding my enjoyment...
That bothered me initially as well, but the other guys sound better now that some more of the lyrics are starting to sink in.

Mike Dixn, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 20:00 (eighteen years ago)

granted I have only listened to this twice so far

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 16 October 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

Whut Mike Dixn said. This has way grown on me after initial disappointment at diminished hagerty-content.

Was really hoping this would be news about a new album. Anyone know if there are plans to release that film on DVD? It was shown in the usual hipster locales but nowhere else I guess...
