one of the best reissue labels out there, but how legitimate are they? they seem to be based in Russia as the releases have a lot of Russian text on them. i've bought a few of the vinyl releases & the quality has been excellent, nice thick vinyl, good packaging etc. does anyone have any more info?

i have a few of these but hadn't made the connection, they are really good looking records and pretty well distributed, plus i've been looking for that caetano veloso record for years and have nearly spent big bucks on import cds on many occasions so yippee. have you got the claudine longet lp zappicat?

cw, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:07 (eighteen years ago)

no, i've heard a couple of songs by her & wasn't overly impressed. are you a fan?
my copy of the faust reissue is stuck in some post depot somewhere, damn you strikers i want my clear vinyl wonkiness NOW.

zappi, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:19 (eighteen years ago)

just looked at the daisies lp - holy crap well thats a certain flatmates birthday present sorted out then

zappi, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:20 (eighteen years ago)

the valerie and her week of wonders soundtrack is pretty amazing too, so maybe you could eke it out til christmas. i reallly love the jean claude vannier lp also. crazy. that faust reissue is mighty tempting. if Lillith is a shady eastern bloc operation they certainly have good production values.

cw, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:27 (eighteen years ago)

we used to have a homemade bootleg tape of the music from Daisies that we made 15 years ago by holding a mic up to the tv. haha! its not coming out till late nov anyway, so xmas present it is then. wil check out the valerie record.
oh yeh the Black Merda lp has some really good songs on it, but a terrible production.

zappi, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 09:33 (eighteen years ago)

i was wondering how the lilith version of black merda sounded. i have a twofer of black merda and the mer-da album on funky delicacies and it sounds like ass, too. i guess it's just the original recording.

Ah! I'd heard a rumour about the Daisies soundtrack being released, but didn't know it was true. Awesomeness. It's one of the few films I know I can introduce someone to and they'll be blown away (thanks, zappi). I'll second Valerie OST as being worth grabbing, too.

As for Lilith, I think I only have the Muzik Von Harmonia one they did, though I'll definitely be picking up the Os Mutantes.

emil.y, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 18:00 (eighteen years ago)

I have Musik Von Harmonia, Cluster II, Zuckerzeit on Lilith LP and Deluxe on CD. They're all nice and shiny and sound good. From what I gather they're using the same tapes as the German Universal reissues for the Cluster material. Can anyone verify this?

I'd love to know more about who they are exactly. They seem to have no web presence at all.

due to the No New York reissue, I've always assumed they weren't legit at all. They do have good taste.
