Does James Blunt's "My Triangle" on Sesame Street (to the tune of the ubiquitous 'You're Beautiful') make him somehow defensible?

I'm guessing someone paid for Popbitch to say positive things about this. Dude is still worse than paedophiles.

His performance clearly indicates that he has a sense of humor about himself/his song. The original is not on my list of 100,000 best songs of ever or anything but some of y'all are trying too hard for internet street cred and you need to chill.

My kid's going on 15 (Jesus...) and when she was watching Sesame Street I totally dug "It's Hip to Be a Square" so James Blunt isn't too much farther a fall. It is one reason I'm glad she's older now, though.

It would make a pretty good poll listing the bands that have re-done their tunes for Sesame Street. My vote, off the top of my head, would be "Elmo and the Lavender Moon."

dude saying james blunt sucks is hardly a contrarian stance!

yes but saying it with such BEAT YOU DOWN vehemence seems to indicate...uh...something. anyway, my kids thought the triangle song was pretty funny when we were watching 'sesame street.' nb: they both HATE the original.

worst band to remake a song for 'sesame street': spin doctors. of course, if i follow my own logic above i'd have to say something nice about them, but fuck that, dude was being smug and smirky even singing with muppets.
