based on my friend's assertion that amon tobin is among the top 5 since '93. i've never heard him. i'm also (obviously) not particularly an expert on electronic music, so i'm interested to see responses...
lots of obvious things come to mind (aphex, autechre, LCD (?), etc), but nothing definitive...
thoughts?

There's no point showing late 90s hip-hop to Louis. He sees the dudes walking around mansions with $500,000 grills and water fountains spunking out 3 gallons of VSOP every hour and just goes "My god, how do these people manage to survive in such poverty?"

Ah, some great live drum-sampling here. Added to the expert scratching and we have the work of what is clearly an experienced and highly able producer. The lyrics are delivered with a particularly self-righteous tone; good thing, then, that its orators can back up their puffed egocentricism with captivating flow and a gripping self-justification. They make out like they're the meanest kids on the street; rap-wise, they probably are. Excellent stuff.

Soviet surely deserves a mention.
I was about to mention Alan Wilder although it occurs to me that most of his best work was pre-1993.
