Ant and Dec doing a hoary old terrace singalong for beery smart-but-casual thirty-somethings in the name of "World in Motion" ... do I not like that, Brian. Can we not get someone more suited to the trend set by the FA's inspired choice of N.O. in 1990 ? In a nutshell, who would YOU choose to do England's WC song ? Or, for that matter, who should do a song with the USA team ? Or how about France ? Or (you get the picture by now.)

I have long thought that "World In Motion" was a bit shit. The England song should be sung by the England team and bought at the buyer's own risk.

The Fall seem to me to embody England better than anyone else, with the possible exception of Pulp or maybe Fatboy Slim. But I'd have asked Andy Weatherall to revisit the old Barmy Army style.
